*This fundraising event is for, and is by SWES, but SWEPTA wants to help spread the word. This is a copy of an all school email from the principal.*

dont forget

The SWES ASB kettle corn fundraiser has been extended until December 11th.

Hello Orca Families,We use our ASB funds for assemblies like Tap Root Theater Bullying Program and the Reptile Man as well as for recess equipment and leadership incentives for students.  We have spent a considerable amount of funds on assemblies over the last couple of years and need to replenish those funds so we can continue to offer assemblies, drama club, and leadership incentives to students.  We have only had one fundraiser in the last three years, so it is time for a fundraiser.  For this round we chose to sell Kettle Corn.  It is quick and easy to sell and easy for our supplier to get orders to us within a week.  In addition, the gentleman that owns this company is retired from the military (thus the name Uncle Sam’s) and is very supportive of schools (his grandmother was an English teacher).  He has reduced his profit to increase ours.kettle-corn-pot

We will be sending home order forms along with this letter in our THT folders on November 10th.  We will sell popcorn through the Thanksgiving break and will need order forms back by Friday, December 4th 11th.  We should have the orders back by the end of the next week.

This Kettle Corn is well worth the small price of $5 per bag.  I saw the same product of much lower quality at a fair for $9 a bag.  I purchase bags (usually 3 or 4) of the regular flavored Kettle popcorn every time we go across Snoqualmie Pass to the Yakima area.  In addition to his regular flavor he also makes caramel flavored.

We appreciate your support to increase our ASB funds.  As a staff we will be looking into other fundraiser ideas such as selling items that we grow on our school farm.  If you are interested in helping us with ideas for other fundraisers please contact me.

Mr. Cravy, Principal

SWES Textile Drive

The elementary school will be partnering with the 4H club K9 Korp to do a textile drive the last few weeks of school. As a partner, some of the funds will be given to the elementary school for supplies while the rest of the funds will be used for 4H education opportunities and other 4H related expenses.

We will have two large bins outside the front entrance for you to place your items into. This is the time to get rid of clothes, blankets, curtains, sheets, and shoes. that are too worn to be of any use, but you can’t just bring yourself to throw away. Unusable items will be recycled and any usable items will be given to a local thrift shop.

Thank you for supporting your school and local 4H. Any questions please email me at jcravy@sw.wednet.edu
