While the back to school program has finished we are part of an amazing community. If you are someone you know is experiencing hardships the Family Resource Center by Readiness to learn has amazing resources and would love to help you and your family out! They can provide a variety of services to Homework Club for middle schoolers, school supplies, to just help filling out forms for free or reduced lunch.
SWEPTA is sponsoring a BBQ starting at at 5:00 p.m. on the front lawn. The BBQ will close promptly at 6:15 p.m. so that SWEPTA volunteers can clean up and get to their students classrooms. We will also be asking current PTA members to vote on next years budget and board when they have a chance.
There will be Costco hot dogs, chips, water, Capri Sun’s and Cookies available, everything is a $1 each, making it $1-$4 per person for dinner depending on what you get!!! Funds from the BBQ go to helping with SWEPTA’s programs. Last year we ran out of hot dogs so don’t wait ;).
Keep an eye out, PTA membership registration is in a Take Home Tuesday folder heading your way! You can sign up for a membership and then determine your level of participation based on your interest. Upcoming opportunities include volunteering at the upcoming Jog-a-thon, attending the next meeting on October 14th at 6:30 in the PTA room and helping to plan a Family Fun Night. However, just joining the PTA does a lot to show support for our school, helps to build a sense of community and it provide kids with opportunities. Let’s get those membership forms turned in, go Orcas!
The form didn’t make it home? That’s okay! You can download and print off the form HERE. Just fill it out and send it to school with a check attached.
