Don’t forget, to make the transition a little easier for staff, students and families, the first 2 days of the 2015-2016 school year are early release days. That is both Tuesday 9/8 and Wednesday 9/9. Thursday and Friday will be full days.
Also kindergarten parents please check your mail. Kindergartners have scheduled activities meet and greets the first week of school with their first official day of school being the following week on 9/14.
Don’t forget to turn in those nomination forms for the Golden Orca Awards! Nominate a classroom or school volunteer who has a made a difference in the classroom or your childs life. Forms can be found in your childs Take Home Tuesday Folder from this week.
SWEPTA is sponsoring a BBQ starting at at 5:00 p.m. on the front lawn. The BBQ will close promptly at 6:15 p.m. so that SWEPTA volunteers can clean up and get to their students classrooms. We will also be asking current PTA members to vote on next years budget and board when they have a chance.
There will be Costco hot dogs, chips, water, Capri Sun’s and Cookies available, everything is a $1 each, making it $1-$4 per person for dinner depending on what you get!!! Funds from the BBQ go to helping with SWEPTA’s programs. Last year we ran out of hot dogs so don’t wait ;).
You may have seen this article this week in South Whidbey Record about the teacher walk-out next week. We just want to remind parents that, if you read the article, it will NOT affect class schedules, students will have a regular half day on Wednesday May 6th getting out at the usual time.
Don’t forget, Wednesday 5/6, is an early release day for students.
Also don’t forget about the Family Movie Night TONIGHT.
