Help Shape SWEPTA’s Future: Join the Nominating Committee

Each spring, SWEPTA members elect a new board of volunteer leaders—and that process starts now, with the formation of our Nominating Committee. This small team of trusted members plays a big role: they help identify, recruit, and recommend candidates to serve in elected board positions for the upcoming school year.

What does the Nominating Committee do?

Think of it as a matchmaking team for PTA leadership. The committee reaches out to potential board candidates, talks with them about the roles available, and ensures that the proposed slate reflects the needs, strengths, and diversity of our South Whidbey Elementary community.

It’s a short-term, low-pressure volunteer opportunity with a high impact.

No prior PTA leadership experience needed—just a willingness to connect, collaborate, and think about what’s best for our school.

We’ll be forming the committee during our Member Meeting on Monday, January 15th, and we’d love to see you there! Whether you’re ready to volunteer or just want to learn more, your voice matters.

🗓 Member Meeting: Monday, January 15th
